The director of the previous two films, Paul King, decided not to direct this installment
Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives at the Bear Retirement Home. An exciting adventure begins for the Brown family when a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey. However, he came up with the idea for the third film and was involved as an executive producer.
Paddington in Peru is a rather charming, if unremarkable film
He appeared in Graham Norton and guest stars: Billy Crystal/Emily Mortimer/Hugh Bonneville/Pharrell Williams/Michael Kiwanuka (2024). Sure, it doesn’t reach the heights of Paddington 2, but it’s probably on par with the first game. With a different director at the helm, this film also has a different angle, moving the action from London to the jungles of Peru.
It keeps the story interesting enough, flows quite well, and maintains a decent pace
This is probably a wise choice because it helps the film feel fresh and different compared to the other two. It also makes room for a slightly different type of story, this one feels adventurous and more exciting. The humor is a bit average, but it’s definitely more geared towards kids, so that’s more a reflection of my age than anything else.
It’s kind and gentle
I also think the emotional side is a bit lame. I remember Paddington 2 making me cry, but this one feels a little more tender. I actually think that word sums up this movie.
