Legendary director Mike Leigh returns to the modern world with a ferocious, compassionate and often darkly humorous study of family and the thorny ties that bind us. Reunited with Leigh for the first time since her multiple Oscar nominations in Secrets & Lies, the incredible Marianne Jean-Baptiste plays Pansy, a woman torn by fear, haunted by adversity and given to furious tirades against her husband, her son and anyone who gets in her way. Meanwhile, her easygoing younger sister, played by Michele Austin (One More Year), is a single mother whose life is as different from Pansy’s as their contrasting temperaments, filled with the shared warmth of her salon clients and daughters. This expansive film from a superb playwright takes us into the poignancy of kinship, duty and that most enduring of human mysteries: even through lives filled with pain and hardship, we still find a way to love those we call family.

Line of Events
Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, a.k.a. Except for the bat signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got our Robert Pattinson cameo in "The Penguin." In this short video, IMDb tries to answer: Where the heck was Batman?. Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of The Penguin smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022) but was unsuccessful. For his own series however, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user, with a preference for cigars..
Farrell STEALS this series
The DC Studios logo is set in a raining Gotham alley. An umbrella drops and the logo changes to the Warner Bros logo.. Featured in Graham Norton i gosti: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). He’s impressive.
The show is gritty and graphic
There is nothing in the character that even hints of Farrell. The NY dialect, the sway and limp, the attitude : you’d swear it was another person. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and add to the character. There is nothing cartoonish about it.
Well-written and taut
This makes a great counterpart to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say this blows Marvel’s line out of the water. I’m hoping that their might be a season 2, but I know that this is limited. It’s a shame.
A family of ranchers in Montana is confronted by others encroaching on their land. Forry J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is an experienced man in the world of rodeo. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his Montana accent and revert to his usual Southern California voice. Featured on WatchMojo: 10 Best Summer TV Shows That Are Off Your Radar (2018) This is the type of show where cowboy/western life meets big city mafia life. This show is well done, the first two episodes were well written and leave you wanting more after each episode. Not to mention the beautiful landscapes of Montana and Utah. The Duttons remind me of the Ewings from the 70s drama Dallas. In short, Yellowstone is Dallas meets The Sopranos.
