Kevin Costner is the patriarch who runs a ranch dynasty as big as some countries. His lifestyle is influenced by resort developers, tribal rights, and the authority of the state of Montana. He resembles Rock Hudson in the movie “Giant” and tries to hold on to old ways.
Costner seems to naturally fill the boots of his character
"Yellowstone" builds quickly, with little introduction, but its story unfolds at the natural pace of a day in the wilderness, pausing for tribal rituals, cowboy conventions, and political machinations. This is a high-profile undertaking, straddling the seams between law and justice, family and friendship. A world-weary man who has seen too much and lied too often.
Country and family are his livelihood
He hears footsteps approaching, but he can only play his part out of habit, not loyalty. Even if some of the action is a little jarring due to the lack of explanation, it feels natural, as if the viewer is getting a real slice of life in another world. I hope there is an emotional payoff in the resolution of this saga that justifies its scope and attention to detail.

Update 2018.07.20.: After four episodes, the series has a strong tone and a steady rhythm. We get to know the fullness of each story, from the roots to the fruits.
